9. semester - Master Thesis
During the 9th semester - the first part of our master thesis project, we analyzed and described the state of the art of Aspect Oriented Programming (AOP) implementations, and ended up developing tool support for AspectDNG as an add-in for Microsoft Visual Studio 2005. The tool included visual aids - such as highlighting of advices, syntax errors, style enforcement, and a wizard guiding the user through the process of declaring a pointcut. The wizard was able to extract a pattern based on the selected join-points, and insert that pointcut pattern into the aspect.
